This privacy policy describes our collection and use of personal information that we collect through our Services.
In this document, the words “we,” “our” and “us” refer to ZenStudy, LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company, “you” and “your” refer to visitors to our Services. The term “Services” means our website available at zenstudy.com which we refer to as our “Website”, and our various applications available at https://app.zenstudy.co or via mobile application stores, which we refer to as our “Applications.” The term “Policy” refers to this Privacy Policy.
This Policy is effective as of the date shown above. When we update this Policy, we will update the Effective Date above. You should review this Policy from time to time.
1. Personal Information
When this Policy refers to “Personal Information,” it is referring to information that may be used to identify an individual person. Personal information includes a person’s name, telephone number, and email address. Personal information may also refer to a person’s social media identifiers. In addition, certain information that is provided by your computer or the internet, such as the “IP Address” associated with your computer or mobile device may be personal information.
2. Types of Personal Information We Collect
General: Our Services provide a variety of forms that allow you to make an account or contact us. In general, these forms request your name, email address, and telephone number. We will use this information to provide the Services or respond to requests from you.
Technical Information: As part of the normal operation of the Services, we collect information about visitors to our Services. This information includes the “IP address” of the device used to connect to our Services. An IP address is a long series of numbers that can, sometimes, be used to uniquely identify a device on the internet. We do not associate this IP address with any other personal information we collect through the Website. In addition, our Services use a technology known as “cookies” to allow our Services to function properly and to identify users when they return to our Services as described below. We may also periodically collect and use technical data and related information in a form that does not personally identify a user to facilitate the provision of updates, product support, and other services.
3. Why We Collect Personal Information
We need to collect certain Personal Information to provide our Services to our users and to conduct our legitimate business activities, to better understand our users’ needs and preferences, to improve the effectiveness of our offerings, including to conduct research and analysis, to contact you about our Services and you use of the Services, to respond to your emails, questions, comments and support issues, to send you updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages, to detect and prevent fraud, and to otherwise facilitate your use of, and our administration and operation of, the Services, to carry out our legal obligations, and for other purposes as further explained in this Privacy Policy.
We will only use Personal Information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy, unless we obtain your prior approval or are required to do so by law.
4. We May Use Tracking Information, Including Cookies
Our Services use a variety of tracking tools, such as “cookies,” “tracking pixels,” and “beacons” to allow us to understand which parts of our Services you are using at any specific time and to allow us to recognize you when you come back to our Services. Some of these are provided by third party vendors. In addition, our computer servers keep a log of various activities performed on our Services by our users and record information about the browsers and devices used to access the Services. 6. Our Disclosures of Personal Information
6a. Third Parties Providing the Services on our behalf:
We may share your Personal Information with third parties that perform services on our behalf, such as companies that host or operate the Services; provide IT service, marketing services, legal advisers, accountants, data analysis, marketing services, etc. When we do so, we do so under conditions that require the service provider to keep the personal information confidential.
In addition, we may disclose your Personal Information if required to do so by law, court order, warrant, subpoena or other legal requirement.
6b. How Long We Keep Personal Information
We will keep your personal information indefinitely.
6c. We Do Not Sell Personal Information
We do not sell personal information. However, if our company is bought, then the purchaser will have access to any personal information in our possession.
6d. How We Safeguard Personal Information
We work hard to preserve the integrity and the security of Personal Information under our control. We implement reasonable administrative, organizational and technical safeguards, and security measures to protect Personal Information and to maintain the security of our information systems and information under our control. Please keep in mind that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. As a result, we cannot promise or guarantee that such information will be immune from any wrongdoing, malfunction, unlawful interception or access, or other kinds of abuse and misuse. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please alert us at privacy@zenstudy.co.
7. We Do Not Intentionally Collect Personal Information about Children
We do not intentionally collect personal information about children and do not believe that our Services will have any interest to children under 13 years of age. If you believe that we have collected personal information about a child under 13 years of age, please send us an email using the contact information below. In your email, please tell us why you believe we have this information, including any details about the personal information we have. We will investigate and delete any such information.
8. Notices to California Residents
PLEASE NOTE: This section applies ONLY to people who live in California.
In the 12 months preceding the Effective Date shown at the top of this Privacy Policy, we have collected the information listed in the “Types of Personal Information We Collect” section, above. We have also collected names, business address, business email address and business telephone numbers of individuals associated with companies and governments who we do business with or with whom we have considered doing business. These companies include actual and potential customers, vendors, suppliers and other business partners.
We have collected this information when you have provided it to us (e.g. when you emailed us), or when it was made public through your employer’s public request for proposals, through your employer’s website or through your or your employer’s social media presence. This information is collected so we can decide who to enter into business relationships with and to carry out our obligations under those relationships. None of this information is shared with, or sold to, any third party. We do, however, use services provided by various technology companies, and this information may be stored in their services.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose.
8a. Your Rights as a California Resident
You have the right to ask us about your Personal Information that we collect, use and disclose, how and why we collect it and the categories of third parties to whom we provide it. You also have the right to ask us to delete your Personal Information or to correct it if it is inaccurate. To do so, please email us at privacy@zenstudy.com. Your email should provide your first and last name, as well as any email addresses which may be associated with your name to assist us in our search for your personal information. Please also tell us why you believe we may have your personal information. We will review your request against our records to verify that you are, indeed, who you say you are and locate any information that we have about you.
In certain situations, we may not be able to accommodate your request to delete your information. For example, we may continue to hold your information if we need it to comply with a legal obligation or require the information to comply with our contractual obligations to you.
You may exercise your rights through an agent. In that case, we will need proof that the agent is authorized to act on your behalf. In general, a notarized power of attorney will be sufficient for this. That power of attorney should be emailed to us at privacy@zenstudy.com.
We will not discriminate or retaliate against you if you exercise any of the rights listed above or any of your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act.
9. Our Services are Hosted in the United States
Our Services are hosted in the United States. If you are accessing the Services from outside the United States, please be advised that through your continued use of the Services, which is governed by United States law and this Privacy Policy, you are transferring your personal information to the United States and you consent to that transfer. The United States may not have the same data protection laws as your country.
